Technology contributes no only to linguistic practices but also language use. Accessibility to technology can promote a language and offer new contexts, but on the other hand, the lack of it can also be one reason for why languages can become endangered. For this reason not all the pages in these categories refer directly to technology, but are counted as included in e.g., descriptions like ''[[Causes of language endangerment:|pressure to participate in the world economic order for survival]].''
